The Microcredit Summit Campaign today announced that Temenos, Johnson & Johnson, and the World Savings Banks Institute join Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (the Central Bank of the Philippines) as sponsors of the 2013 Microcredit Summit: Partnerships against Poverty, a global conference organized by the Microcredit Summit Campaign and the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. in Manila, Philippines, this October 9-11.
Johnson & Johnson has been visionary in supporting microfinance initiatives and promoting the integration of microfinance, education, and health-protection services and products. They recognized a unique opportunity to expand and continue its long-standing partnership with the Microcredit Summit Campaign by becoming a sponsor for the 2013 Summit. In addition, the World Savings Bank Institute (based in Belgium), the global representative of savings and retail banking, joined as a sponsor again this year.
Temenos is the market leading provider of banking software systems to retail, corporate, universal, private, Islamic, microfinance, and community banks as well as wealth managers and financial institutions. They have supported the microfinance and community banking market for more than a decade.

Temenos also sponsored the Global Microcredit Summit 2011 in Valladolid, Spain.
Further, the Campaign announced that the Star Alliance members have been appointed as the Official Airline Network for the 2013 Partnerships against Poverty Summit. Registered participants to the Summit can qualify for a discount of up to 20%, depending on fare and class of travel booked on one of their 28 member airlines.
The Microcredit Summit Campaign (the “Campaign”), a project of RESULTS Educational Fund, is the largest global network of institutions and individuals involved in microfinance and is committed to two important goals: 1) reaching 175 million of the world’s poorest families with microfinance and 2) helping 100 million families lift themselves out of severe poverty. The Campaign convenes a broad array of actors involved with microfinance to promote best practices in the field, to stimulate the exchange of knowledge and to work towards alleviating world poverty through microfinance.
The Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI) is the national network of microfinance institutions working towards sustainable, innovative and client-responsive solutions to poverty in the country. The key programs of MCPI include advocacy, social performance management and consumer protection in microfinance, capacity building for microfinance institutions, performance monitoring and benchmarking, and the establishment of a knowledge and research center for microfinance.
