Hundreds of service members come to the Coconut Coast for rest and relaxation, now, if they book one of these special openings in our calendar, they can stay here for free.

Kauai, Hawaii (PRWEB) June 30, 2013

Paul Juma, owner of Fern Grotto Inn in Kapaa, Kauai, has always felt deep gratitude toward those who serve in the military. “I admire their selflessness,” he says, “They’re separated from their families for months at a time and risk their lives on a daily basis for us, for our Country all so we can be safe here at home.”

An idea recently came to Juma as he was looking at his booking history over the past five years. He saw that approximately once or twice a month, there was a two or three night gap in between reservations. Rather than let the cottages stay empty for short periods between reservations, Juma realized these gaps could be utilized to appreciate and honor our military. It was the perfect opportunity to give back.

Beginning in July 2013, Fern Grotto Inn, which recently became Kapaa’s top-rated specialty lodging on TripAdvisor, will offer when available two or three free nights to all service members serving overseas.

“Hundreds of service members come to the Coconut Coast for rest and relaxation,” he says, “Now, if they book one of these special openings in our calendar, they can stay here for free.” He adds that service members will be responsible for a $100 cleaning fee, which is standard for his rentals.

Fern Grotto Inn, based in Kapaa, Hawaii, has six vacation rental cottages on the east side of Kauai. Juma has established a reputation for providing his guests with a truly authentic Kauai experience. The cottages are only five minutes from the beach, and Juma recently added a kayak and “his and her” bikes to his list of complimentary guest amenities.

“I hope the service members who stay here are able to relax and reconnect with their loved ones,” Juma says, and a glance around the property suggests relaxation isn’t hard to find at Fern Grotto Inn. The cottages are nestled in a verdant garden full of hibiscus, palm trees, and other tropical plants. The sound of the Wailua River, just yards away, completes the tranquil scene.
