Mokena, IL (PRWEB) July 09, 2013

On June 12, Randy Mucha of leading national process service firm Firefly Legal was appointed treasurer for the Illinois Association of Professional Process Servers (ILAPPS). The appointment underlines Firefly Legal’s commitment to leadership in the process server industry.

Mucha is a civil process supervisor at Firefly who serves as a liaison to approximately 1,000 process servers and vendors nationwide. He’ll serve as treasurer of ILAPPS through 2016. The position was previously held by Firefly Legal President Keith McMaster.

ILAPPS, an association of professional process servers that operates in compliance with the Illinois Code of Civil Procedure and Illinois state law, is currently working on legislation to allow process servers access to gated communities and buildings with restricted access. The organization is also working to create an educational program for process servers in Illinois.

Firefly Legal has been a charter member of ILAPPS since the association’s inception.

As an executive board member, Mucha will play an integral role in the association and in making positive changes in the process serving industry.

“Process servers play a challenging and extremely important role in our legal system. An educational program designed for Illinois process servers would ensure servers are kept current on the latest laws, policy and case-law decisions affecting service of process,” Mucha said. “There is a clear need for standardized training for new process servers and in-service training and refresher programs for current servers. ILAPPS is committed to trailblazing in the area of education, which is in line with the beliefs of Firefly. We have always been at the forefront of ensuring integrity across the industry, and we take pride in the high ethical standards our process servers adhere to.”

A graduate of Lewis University’s Criminal Justice program, Mucha holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership. Before joining the team at Firefly he worked as a law enforcement officer for 20 years, eight which he spent as a K-9 handler.
