Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 01, 2013
The Gervais Group, a national leader in the design and execution of integrated strategies in web design, ecommerce, reputation management, and online marketing, is pleased to announce that it has advanced to the second round in the Small Business Category of the Atlanta region in this year’s “Social Madness” Competition. The contest, which officially began on June 3rd, got underway as an open competition with all Small Business Category entrants in the region competing with each other to advance to the next round.
The Social Madness Competition calculates participating companies’ engagement with their communities on a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and LinkedIn. The contest, sponsored by American City Business Journals, uses a uniquely formulated algorithm that counts likes, comments, shares and other forms of company/customer interactions, to determine the companies that will advance out of each round. Votes can be placed at bizjournals.com as well.
Prior to the start of the competition, entrants were placed in Small, Medium and Large Business categories as determined by their total number of followers, connections, and fans on the social media sites included in the contest. In the second round of the local competition phase, advancing participants go head to head in a tournament format to decide the companies that will advance to the national phase of the Social Madness Competition.
In the Small Business Category in the Atlanta region, the Gervais Group will take on Balentine while other matchups feature Harry Norman Realtors vs. Mannington Commercial, America’s Best Franchising vs. Venza Group, and Century Apartment Homes vs. Taylor, Feil, Harper, Lumsden and Hess P.C. Competition in the second round begins June 18th and concludes on June 24th. The third round of the local phase of the competition will run from June 25th through July 1st with the final round of the local phase starting July 2nd through July 8th. At that time the winners will be announced in each category and will move on to the national competition.
The Gervais Group designs holistic strategies that include search engine optimization, web design, ecommerce and reputation management tactics which are customized for each company to achieve multiple objectives including increased visibility on search engines, expansion of the target market, and sales growth.
On advancing to the second round of the Social Madness Competition Jason Gervais, Senior Project Manager of the Gervais Group, said “We are excited to advance and know that we’ll face tough competition in the next round.” He added, “We know our work is cut out for us in order to keep advancing in the Atlanta Small Business bracket.”
In 2012, the Social Madness Competition featured almost 4,000 companies, with donations totaling $30,000 ($10,000 from each category) going to charities chosen by the winner of each category. The 2013 Social Madness Competition again will enable each category winner to direct $10,000 to the charity of their choice.
