Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) July 26, 2013
DFW Weekly, a new media company in the Dallas area, is pleased to announce the launch of a monthly community newspaper in North Oak Cliff. This first issue of DFW Weekly/ North Oak was published and direct mailed to over 6,315 residences and businesses in the community. The owners are dedicated to providing North Oak Cliff with an entertaining, informative publication that creatively captures life in the area.
DFW Weekly was founded by long-time businessman and North Oak Cliff resident, Louis D. Jackson. Mr. Jackson was formerly the owner of the Lakewood Automotive, Worldwide Stereo, Aislinn Custom Homes and other successful businesses. He has developed a reputation for being able to turn struggling businesses around throughout the duration of his career.
“We decided to launch our first newspaper in North Oak Cliff because as a resident of the community, I love North Oak Cliff and all the positive energy in the community,” stated Mr. Jackson, Publisher of DFW Weekly.
In June, Jackson brought Heather Preston on board as the Managing Editor. Preston brings extensive writing and editing experience to the team after working as an editor and writing press releases for Hearst Media Services through a media firm in Frisco and writing for the Volacci Corporation, a leading internet marketing company in Austin, Texas.
“When I first met Mr. Jackson and saw his vision, I was inspired,” said Ms. Preston. “Clearly there is a need in numerous DFW area communities for a newspaper that doesn’t just provide the basic news, but understands the flavor and culture of each community. I am really excited to be part of such a great company. Every day in the DFW Weekly office there are creative ideas flowing and I absolutely love that.”
DFW Weekly will publish the North Oak Cliff addition monthly beginning in August of 2013, with weekly news available online. In addition to the North Oak Cliff edition, DFW Weekly has developed plans to published additional community newspapers across the DFW area in the near future.
