Southern New Hampshire University’s College of Online and Continuing Education will offer the nation’s first fully online MBA in Music Business in conjunction with Berklee Online, Berklee College of Music’s award-winning online extension school.
The MBA in Music Business, created in partnership with Berklee and SNHU, is built around a traditional MBA curriculum complemented by business courses that are specific to the music industry. Students will take nine MBA courses online at SNHU in areas, such as managerial accounting, production and operations management, finance, information technology and marketing strategy, and then apply what they learned to the music industry through forward-thinking, online courses with Berklee. Courses to be taken with Berklee Online include Music Business Structures and Strategies, Music Marketing Strategies, Music Business Finance, and Music Business Leadership and Ethics.
“There’s been a massive shift over the past dozen years in the music industry, from an industry that was very much top-down driven and difficult to break into, to one that is much more friendly to disruption, innovation and fresh ideas,” said Debbie Cavalier, VP of Online Education at Berklee College of Music. “The online MBA in Music Business provides the perfect opportunity to gain a thorough business background that is completely suited to help enterprising students forward the evolution of the new music business.”
The online MBA in Music Business program enables students from anywhere in the world to study with both Berklee and SNHU. With 39 credit hours to complete, students can finish in as few as 21 months by taking two courses per 11-week term. Additionally, admission into the program does not require the GMAT or GRE.
“Berklee offers a world-class music education, developing award-winning musicians who go on to find great success throughout the industry," said SNHU President Paul LeBlanc. "We will reinforce that with our long history of business education deeply steeped in those fundamentals that matter regardless of industry sector; the skills that often make the difference between failure and success. That's the critical value-add that Berklee-SNHU graduates will provide when they go out into the market."
Southern New Hampshire University has an 80-year history of graduating successful business professionals and has continued to top the charts with innovative degree programs. This new partnership with Berklee Online, renowned for delivering quality online music education, offers incredible opportunities to students seeking to enter or advance in variety of music industry positions.
