Both my brother and I have been committed for years to help the needy and this is an important cause. We are glad to have been part of it.

For the second straight year, Stuart Podolsky & Jay Podolsky of New York City, owners of the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel have donated their entire hotel, including guest rooms and meeting space, to riders in Bike4Chai to support the organization’s great cause.

Bike4Chai raises money for Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special, two overnight summer camps designed to meet the medical and social needs of children and teens with cancer and other serious illnesses. The camps help children who might not have the opportunity enjoy a traditional rite of passage – sleep-away camp. An amazing 2.4 million dollars has been raised by the organization so far.

The event took place on July 30, 2013. Over 200 elite cyclists embarked on the 4th Annual Bike4Chai two-day cycling tour. The goal is not only to reach the finish line, but to change the lives of riders and of over 400 very sick children. Starting from the beautiful beaches of the Jersey Shore, winding through scenic roads and breathtaking mountain views, the ride ends in Glen Spey, NY at the entrance into Camp Simcha Special, Chai Lifeline's medically supervised overnight camp for seriously ill children.

“Both my brother and I have been committed for years to help the needy and this is an important cause. We are glad to have been part of it,” said Stuart Podolsky.
