"...every time we upload our image on the web we are “rated” we just don’t know what the score is"
Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) August 06, 2013
Jetpic Company, US based startup is preparing to launch its free web and mobile app designed to give a personalized feedback on anything that relates to its users looks on the spot.
“There are many ways to go to find out what looks work for you. You might ask your spouse or a friend, or just upload your pic on Facebook and hope you can figure it out by how many ‘likes’ you get.” says David Krzych co-founder of Jetpic. “Until now there was no sure and convenient way to get a straight answer, but with Jetpic we can change that. With Jetpic you will be able to test anything looks-related, like clothes, hairstyle, make-up, even a smile or a pose. It will also help you choose right profile photo including precise targeting. Say, you need a photo for a dating site and are interested in Hispanic women of age 30 to 35. You will be able to check which of your photos will appeal to them the most before you even put it out there. Jetpic is a great tool for improving your looks, and knowing that people around us like what we wear is kind of an assurance we all could use. After all, we hate being judged poorly just because we grabbed a wrong tie.”
There is no second chance to make the first impression – why not get it right?
“The idea behind the system was simple. First impression is the ultimate test of your getup” says Marlena Watorek, director of marketing for Jetpic. “When we meet someone new, their looks is the first thing we notice. Based on what we see we even make assumptions about their personality. There is no two ways about it – after all what we see is really the only thing we know for sure. Basically, what Jetpic does, it gets bunch of these first impressions and turns them into a number that is both, fair and meaningful. There were many issues we needed to address to create Jetpic. While strangers are great to evaluate your looks, it is kind of hard to get and understand feedback from them. My uncle Tom would never say that you looked great or even good. If he really liked something all you would get was “It’s all right”. For those who knew him “all right” was a great praise, but for some who didn’t it could even mean disapproval. Jetpic is powered by our proprietary “Fair score” system – it translates ratings that other users give you into ratings that represent how they really feel about your looks. While Jetpic is anonymous, system analyzes user rating history, which allows it to remove bias towards ethnic groups or gender, it detects cyber bullies and even rating system misuse. “Fair score” is the heart of the system. It is the most exciting aspect of our app – you really get to know how people feel about any change you make to your appearance, you can be really sure if something works for you or you should try something else. Just a few years ago an app like that would be a tough sell. Putting up your photo to be reviewed by strangers might sound scary for some users even today. But every time we upload our image on the web we are “rated” we just don’t know what the score is. The moment you realize that, the need for app like Jetpic becomes apparent.”
Taking few shots takes a moment, but choosing the right photo for a profile takes forever.
Ms. Watorek notes that while Jetpic wasn’t originally designed for the task it turned up to be an excellent tool for choosing a profile photo.
“Choosing the right profile pic not only takes a long time, but in the end you can never be sure if you picked the best one. With Jetpic it is fast and reliable.”
Ever wondered if cosmetic surgery is worth the trouble? Which option to choose?
“It is a growing market – there are many who want to improve their looks by plastic surgery. Often, you will get a “mock up” of different options to choose from, because it is something that you really want to do right. Choosing the right option, or whether you want to do it at all, is critical and for most of it very stressful. It’s another example where Jetpic can prove to be a valuable tool.” says Mr. Krzych.
Jetpic web and mobile app
Mr. Krzych also notes that Jetpic is in the last stages of development, currently in closed beta. It is nearly ready for public release. It is also the only app of its kind on the market with no direct competitor. Jetpic is currently raising funds for initial operational costs using Indiegogo crowdfunding platform. With a successful campaign it should launch its free service as early as October 2013.
