It’s no surprise that Dance Pizazz, the St. Louis’ area funnest, friendliest dance studio, also has the funnest and friendliest dance instructors. What better way to get to know them than through our ‘Spotlight Series: Meet the Instructor’ (http://www.dance-pizazz.com)? The fifth video interview featuring the studio’s instructors highlights the accomplishments of Josiah Thompson.
Mr. Thompson started, like every dancer, with basic ballroom dance lessons and slowly progressed until he felt the calling to teach others. He’s since mastered both American Rhythm and Smooth Styles, specifically developing a passion for Rumba. Mr. Thompson takes pride in helping his students unlock their personal confidence, something he feels dancing did for him. To this day, he believes that ballroom dance has helped him become a better public speaker and has exponentially improved his interpersonal skills.
Although he has a contagious passion for teaching, Mr. Thompson does admit that he is at his happiest when competing. He believes it’s important to have concrete goals in life that challenge and keep a person engaged. This belief has infused students who have sought competition-level training from him to win multiple accolades and awards.
