Barton Associates, a leading national physician and nurse practitioner locum tenens company, announces its plans to expand its workforce, creating 75 new sales and recruiting jobs in each of its four locations. Barton Associates is headquartered in Peabody, MA with additional staffing centers in Hardwick, MA, Enfield, CT, and Jupiter, FL.

The company, which currently employs more than 200, plans to make the positions available over the next three months. It also has plans to open additional offices in the Pacific and Central Time Zones starting in 2015.

The company is looking for recent college graduates with strong communication and customer service skills who are interested in career opportunities. Candidates with a strong work ethic and the ability to achieve objectives will be best suited for the positions. Prior experience in business, recruiting or sales is not necessary. Barton Associates has an extensive training program designed to advance employee careers into management roles.

The company’s expansion is in response to the growing demand for healthcare providers. The continued physician shortage as well as the expected increase in the number of insured patients through the Affordable Care Act caused demand for physicians and nurse practitioners to reach an all-time high. Many healthcare organizations use locum tenens physicians and nurse practitioners to optimize patient access, ensure continuity of care, and maximize revenue generation.

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) projects a shortage of 70,000 physicians by 2015 and expects that number to reach 130,000 by 2025. Barton Associates President and Chief Operating Officer Rob Indresano noted that “all the demographics evidence a growing demand for a limited supply of doctors, which will create a world of opportunities for our business.”
