IP Week in Singapore runs from August 26-30 and CONSOR Chairman Weston Anson is taking a prominent role as a speaker for three separate seminars. The gathering brings together 600-800 industry leaders to discuss and share how businesses, government officials and professionals could scale their ideas through smart use of intellectual property. The week combines a number of IP conferences, including the Global Forum on Intellectual Property (GFIP), and the France-Singapore Patent Symposium (France-SPS); Mr. Anson will be speaking at both.
Mr. Anson’s presentations will be the following:
IP Valuation, Financing and Taxation: Getting More Bang for Your Buck. (GFIP) Following the global financial meltdown, commercial, investment and lending institutions are hesitant to collateralize IP assets without credible IP valuation. Speakers will guide attendees with valuable insights, strategies and mechanisms to maximize IP collateralization. Along with Mr. Anson, the panel consists of Keoy Soo Earn, Deloitte & Touche; Gordon Smith, New Hampshire School of Law; and moderator Dr. Ivan Png, National University of Singapore Business School.
IP Valuation – Use the Science to Apply the Art. (France-SPS) Mr. Anson will discuss how IP valuation has been dubbed both as a science and as an art. It brings together the concepts of value from an economic perspective and property from a legal standpoint. The science and art of IP valuation is combined to provide an outcome.
Valuation of a Mock IP Asset. (France-SPS) A number of panelists will explore how a valuation of a mock IP asset is seen from the viewpoint of various stakeholders, e.g. IP Valuer, IP Manager, IP Financier and IP Broker. In addition to Mr. Anson, the panel consists of Alan Fustec, Goodwill Management; Pascal Asselot, France Brevets; Suzanne Harrison, Inflexion Point Strategy; and Gordon Smith. Mr. Anson will present an entirely new valuation method designed to be used in developing markets – the LMAM – unique, easy to understand and tailored to smaller markets and smaller companies.
If you happen to be attending IP Week in Singapore, come by and say hello to Mr. Anson. The CONSOR team is also available to discuss any of your IP valuation needs, and/or if you would like to schedule a presentation at your company or firm, including CLE presentations.
