The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and Murray goes in for the first time defending a Grand Slam title. The tournament will be played over two weeks with the final played on the DecoTurf hard court of the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Reigning champ Murray will be looking to add to the Wimbledon title he won earlier in the year but as always it will be a tough task with a resurgent Rafael Nadal and the consistently strong Novak Djokovic in very good form coming into the tournament. DSG say they will be providing news, stats, features and all the live scores and data as it happens from New York at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait, had this to say: “The US Open was the first Grand Slam that Andy Murray won and marked a turning point with Murray transformed from a ‘nearly man’ to a world beater. His overall game now has been transformed by that confidence and his Wimbledon win showed he could beat great players in a great era for Tennis. We are extremely excited to be following Murray at the US Open and to be in a position to provide a great news and live service over the fortnight of this festival of tennis.”
Simon Boynton, Managing Director of DSG believes that following Andy Murray as he takes on the world will cement his name in history. “There is no doubting the talent and ambition of this British tennis player who could become one of the greatest ever. We will be putting the fan into the action of the court with news, stats, features interviews and video on tennis.co.uk.”
