Every week, a drawing will be held to choose a teacher from Sacramento, Yolo, Placer or El Dorado public schools who has been nominated to win a $250 OfficeMax gift card.
According to recent statistics, teachers are spending their own earnings to supplement lean classroom budgets. Surveys show that 91 percent of teachers spend their own money on classroom supplies and necessities. In 2009 to 2011, teachers spent more than $1.33 billion in out-of-pocket expenses for supplies and instructional materials.
In order to qualify for the Green Apple Award, nominators and teachers must adhere to the guidelines below:
