Montauk Tackle Company, Inc. Performance Fishing Shirts Launches a New Ad Campaign; Redefining What It is to Be American Made

Quality and longevity that outlasts its competitions' imports is the main thrust of the new messaging for Montauk Tackle Company’s line of fishing shirts. MTC is going beyond the current social media grass root movement of patriotic goodwill of buying something American made by giving the consumer a real reason for the value of purchasing American made—longevity.

Montauk Tackle Company's Longevity Campaign

Our competitors make their performance apparel with a business term called planned obsolescence. We don’t.

Montauk Tackle Company, Inc. prides itself on the relentless pursuit of quality. “Our competitors make their performance apparel with a business term called planned obsolescence. We don’t,” says Ron Cesark, President of Montauk Tackle Company, Inc.

The new campaign will launch in October books, designed to educate the consumer of American made quality and why it costs a few extra dollars compared to things made in Vietnam and Bangladesh. “Most people like the idea of American made but have a tough time laying out the extra dollars for it. They need a real reason to do so,” says Ron Cesark, President of Montauk Tackle Company, Inc.

MTC’s current media plan includes off shore fishing magazines that target the Northeast, Southeast, Gulf Coast and West Coast markets. Coupled with a strong social media presence that involves grass root organization such as Made in America Movement, American Made Matters, Made In New York City.org, and Made in U.S.A. Challenge.

“Nobody makes a garment like the American worker. 10 years ago we made everything in NYC and sadly I watched two of my three factories shut down. I am thrilled to utilize the remaining factory for Montauk Tackle Company,” says Lauren Brasco, Chief Creative Officer for Fashion.

All of MTC’s performance fishing shirts incorporate a 50UPF sun protection, moisture wicking transporters for quick drying, stain release technologies and an anti-microbial treatment that prevents odor-causing microbes—built for performance and comfort in men and women styles. MTC’s fabrics are milled in California and cut-n-sewn in The Garment District of New York City.

MTC also supports local craftsman for all the finishing touches. “We utilize local embroiders, silk screeners, printers and a third party logistics warehouse company to keep all of our manufacturing and operational expenses in our local economy. It’s a win-win for all,” says Ron Cesark, President of Montauk Tackle Company, Inc.
