The enthusiasm and dedication of ‘Team Davidson’ is truly an inspiration.

Davidson Hotels & Resorts demonstrated once again why they are among the most socially-conscious and charitable organizations in the country as their hotel staff members worked together to raise $108,589 for Give Kids The World (GKTW). Davidson’s President and Chief Executive Officer, John Belden, had set a corporate goal of $100,000 for the Ice Cream For Breakfast program and beamed, “We didn’t just beat our goal, we’ve changed the world by helping over 7,000 wish children and their families find their way to GKTW this year.” Belden serves on the Give Kids The World Board of Directors, a 70-acre, nonprofit “storybook” Village in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

“Team Davidson” spent two months planning and implementing a very successful campaign that was supported by staff from hotels like Renaissance Baton Rouge ($11,714), Hilton Knoxville ($11,633), Hilton Gaithersburg ($10,378) and Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile ($9,356). Davidson Hotels & Resorts is also a contributor to Give Kids The World Capital Campaign designed to fund an expansion of the Village. “We’ve also laid the foundation for GKTW to expand the Village so they can reach even thousands more each year,” Belden said. “You are all part of the reason GKTW has been consistently ranked as ‘one of the most fiscally responsible charities in the nation’, and I am touched by the grace and love shown by our Davidson family,” he told his staff. In all, Davidson’s goal is to raise over $300,000 for Give Kids the World in 2013.

“Through the continued support of generous partners like Davidson Hotels and Resorts, Give Kids The World is able to fulfill its mission of creating the happiness that inspires hope for children battling a life-threatening illness,” said Pamela Landwirth, president, Give Kids The World. “The enthusiasm and dedication of ‘Team Davidson’ is truly an inspiration.”
