After more than a year of planning and design on their senior living community, Stoney River will host its groundbreaking ceremony on September 25 at 3:30 p.m.
Over the next year, Ramsey residents will see the new community take shape next door to the Lord of Life Lutheran Church on the corner of Nowthen Boulevard and Highway 47. The 80,000-square-foot community will create 60 full and part-time jobs.
Expected to open in fall of 2014, the community will feature nine independent living suites with full kitchens and private washer and dryer, 39 assisted living suites, and 24 specialized memory care units. An information center will be opening in early spring 2014. At that time, seniors will be able to reserve the suite of their choice.
A truly unique aspect of this community is that it will offer seniors the choice of independent living, assisted living or memory care. As their needs change, residents can transition from independent living to assisted living, or even memory care all while staying on the same campus, in the environment they already call home and staff they already know and love.
“It’s catered living to their needs. Most often, you won’t even have to move suites as your needs change. You can stay where you are most comfortable, and we will cater our services to you,” said Managing Director, David Kieffer.
The new senior community will feature seven fireplaces, outdoor walking path and porches, beauty shop, a theater with a 60-inch screen, fitness center, and even a tavern—complete with a bar and a pool table—among the features not typically found in a senior living community.
Designed like an indoor town, the community boasts a main street reminiscent of an old-time downtown shopping district. The indoor street will feature faux brick paving, park benches, street lights, and other items that add to the familiar main-street environment.
Stoney River will host their groundbreaking ceremony on September 25 at 3:30 p.m. at 14401 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minn. The public is invited to attend the ceremony and ask questions about the new senior living community.
