BrightPlanet Corporation is pleased to announce the addition of new premium offerings for the BlueJay Twitter Crime Scanner: 24 Hour Event Monitor and 30 Day Playback.
BlueJay is a browser-based tool for law enforcement, public safety and government officials that captures tweets from the entire Twitter Firehose. Twitter’s streaming utilities only provide access to a sample of actual tweets (http://www.brightplanet.com/twitter). BlueJay provides full access. Subscribers can monitor keywords, users and locations they choose.
In addition to the current features of the tool, subscribers will have the ability to utilize the new premium offerings. Only subscribers will have the ability to use these add-ons for an additional cost.
24 Hour Event Monitor
With the 24 Hour Event Monitor BlueJay subscribers can receive a separate BlueJay interface to live monitor all geo-located tweets within a certain area in real-time for a 24 hour period.
This premier feature can be used to monitor all geo-located tweets within a certain area for major events. Users do not have to provide any keywords and only need to specify a geofence to capture all geo-located tweets within the specified geofence as they occur in real-time.
Users can setup one, 25 mile geofence with the Event Monitor add-on.
Users receive both a BlueJay interface to monitor tweets in real-time and a report of the raw data to do further analysis after the event has finished.
30 Day Playback
The 30 Day Playback allows subscribers to BlueJay to request tweets from a specific timeframe within the last 30 days. This is useful when doing investigation around a specific event or incident that has occurred in the past.
Users can filter tweets by location, keywords, and Twitter handles. Users can specify up to a total of five geofences each covering up to a 25 mile diameter to collect geo-located tweets.
The deliverable for the 30 Day Playback is a BlueJay interface with all the data loaded on it as well as a report of the raw data which the subscriber can perform their own analytics on.
