Springfield, Oregon (PRWEB) September 27, 2013
Professional Credit Service (PCS), a Hawes Financial Group company and a leading debt collection agency, announced today it has successfully completed an ISO/IEC 27002 ISMS implementation certified by the independent firm Auditwerx Risk and Advisory Services (ARAS). Implementing ISO/IEC 27002 ISMS proves that PCS holds itself to the highest security standards thereby protecting clients and consumers from data security risks and further enhancing its Compliance Management System.
“I am extremely proud of our team for completing this implementation. Achieving compliance with ISO/IEC 27002 standards is a daunting process. We are in an elite group as less than an estimated 3% of collection agencies have completed this extensive process,” said Joe Hawes, PCS’ Chief Executive Officer. “Ensuring that our operational and technical systems meet the international standard provides peace of mind for our current and future clients,” said Hawes.
“With the implementation of this stringent security standard, PCS demonstrates why they remain an industry leader and have the ability to adhere to a consistently changing regulatory environment,” said Daniel Geiger, Vice President Operations & Compliance, ARAS.
The ISO/IEC 27002 ISMS implementation covers 11 major areas including logical access control, risk identification and mitigation, network security governance, system development compliance and internal audit development. It allows organizations to develop a control structure that links IT processes with business requirements to improve the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of the overall information security management system (ISMS). With this implementation PCS has the framework in place to pass an ISO/IEC 27001-ISMS audit which demonstrates that the security of information has been addressed, implemented and properly controlled.
“We care deeply about the security of both our clients and consumers’ information,” said Scott Purcell, Chief Operating Officer of Professional Credit Service. “We’ve long been respected by our clients for our commitment to our Mission—to provide our clients the greatest monetary recovery available, while maintaining a complete commitment to protecting their image in the eyes of their customers or patients, and the public. Completing the implementation of ISO/IEC 27002 ISMS is one more way to demonstrate that commitment, and confirms that we are willing to invest in the same compliance standards that our clients in the healthcare, financial services, utilities and government sectors must adhere to,” said Purcell.
PCS must go through the implementation process every three years to maintain The ISO/IEC 27002 ISMS Certificate of Completion.
