Local Landscaping Business and Bug Box Owner Expanding with Addition of Leading Lawn Care Franchise

While local entrepreneur Barry Robinson has been providing a long list of lawn care and pest control solutions to his customers for years, he knew he was not maximizing his potential. In September, his business, CSI of Virginia, is expanding its service offerings with the addition of a Spring-Green Lawn Care franchise.

Spring-Green delivers traditional and organic lawn and tree care services to residential and commercial clients nationwide. A recognized leader in the professional lawn and tree care industry, Spring-Green has been beautifying neighborhoods and communities for more than 36 years.

Robinson took advantage of Spring-Green Lawn Care’s Green Associate Roll-In Program. This fast track program is designed for qualified candidates who own independent green industry businesses that already provide professional lawn and tree care services and want to convert that portion of their business to a Spring-Green franchise while keeping their existing company intact. Robinson is going through training at Spring-Green’s headquarters in early September and will begin providing fall lawn care services to clients before the end of the month.

In 1995, Robinson decided to combine his 25 years of experience in the pest control industry with his entrepreneurial spirit. The result? AAA Pest Pros, Inc. What started as a home-based business, AAA Pest Pros grew quickly and in 2002, several major changes were made. The name was changed to CSI of Virginia, and the company began offering lawn care and home inspections.

“We have been providing our customers with services such as weed control, aeration, and lawn fertilization for a number of years, but I knew there was so much more I could do,” said Robinson. “I was so impressed with Spring-Green’s operations, specifically the franchisee-focused marketing efforts, that I knew it was what I needed to take my business to the next level. The Spring-Green franchise program will fully streamline my business and make the whole experience seamless for my customers.”

Robinson will begin servicing existing and new clients as a Spring-Green Lawn Care franchisee in September. He expects his business to grow more than 20 percent in 2014, his first full year as a Spring-Green Lawn Care owner. Robinson believes he’ll have a client base of more than 250 homes during the fall season and 300 at the start of the 2014 spring season.

In addition to CSI, Robinson also operates Bug Box, a live insect zoo located in Fredericksburg. The zoo features exotic insects, arachnids, and crustaceans from around the world. Bug Box is open to the general public and staff also hosts educational programs and events for small groups, schools, scouts and more.
