The ability to tailor solutions to client needs is a hallmark of InfinIT Consulting, an IT consulting group based in San Jose, California. That is why the company has been named this month’s “Cloud Innovator” at

CEO Jerod Powell and his co-workers shun the one-size-fits-all route to computer problem-solving, choosing to take the time to address their clients’ individual situations. More and more those solutions are coming in the form of cloud-based managed services.

“You don’t have to have staff on site,” said Mike Brogan, InfinIT’s director of marketing. “It can all be done completely remotely from a central console.”
“Customers can even send a request,” Brogan said. “Or, chat or send an email to the IT partner, and we can, with the customer’s permission, assume control of that computer and resolve the issue without having to make an expensive trip to resolve the issue on site.“

Many of the solutions offered by InfinIT Consulting are familiar to its customers – such as Microsoft’s Office software that is available through the cloud as Office 365. That sort of familiarity makes the transition easier for some businesses.

“Everything we do is focused around providing solutions in the cloud and that is anything from email and calendars and schedules, and that is through Office 365,” Brogan said.

InfinIT’s specialty has been smaller businesses (25 to 250 employees), but the company also is attracting businesses in the 250- to 1,000-employee range. Clients hail nationwide, with the concentration in California, Washington and on the West Coast.

“For a small business, we often are their IT,” Brogan said. “Either as their partner, or handling everything for them. For larger companies, we’re often augmenting their existing staff or providing things when they don’t have it.”
