1. The clerk of the court is required to mail the notice of pending consumer credit action to the defendant.
2. The court filing is required to contain more information regarding the debt (e.g. proof that the debt is owed to the plaintiff).
3. The statute of limitations of consumer credit transactions is now down to three years from the usual six. After the statute of limitations, once reached, will terminate the debt collectors ability to come after the debtor for the amount owed.
