The Stars and Stripes Financial Planning Guide is a must-read for anyone interested in charting a course to a sound financial future.

On February 22, servicemembers will have access to the Stars and Stripes 2013 Financial Planning Guide. This comprehensive guide aims to help the U.S. military community understand what it takes to achieve financial security. It covers a broad range of topics from the perspective of the unique challenges to personal finances that the military lifestyle entails, such as financial hardship due to deployment or family crises, settling credit card debt, buying a home, banking safely over the Internet, and retirement.

The guide also includes listings of resources and organizations providing financial help to members of the U.S. military.

“The Stars and Stripes Financial Planning Guide is a must-read for anyone interested in charting a course to a sound financial future,” said International Revenue Director Michael Davidson.

The Financial Planning Guide will be inserted inside the Stars and Stripes Weekend Edition on Friday, Feb. 22, in the European and Pacific theaters, free of charge. Stars and Stripes will also distribute the 2013 Financial Planning Guide on many of the nation's military bases beginning on Feb. 22. The Stars and Stripes 2013 Financial Planning Guide is also available in PDF form on stripes.com.
