The need for secure solutions is not something that is ‘nice to have’ for business and personal communications – it is becoming a mantra to protect your privacy.

Privato Security, a leader in secure and private communications, today announced the public launch of the company and its first two products, PrivateMail and PrivateMail Plus. The products are available for immediate download as a Software as a Service (SaaS) and are tailored for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that need scalable solutions that can be rapidly deployed and work alongside of current IT products and business practices.

The Privato PrivateMail products easily and efficiently secure how businesses transmit sensitive communications and files using the simplicity of email. PrivateMail messages and attachments are automatically encrypted when sent and decrypted when received with PrivateMail. Leveraging Privato’s patented technology, PrivateMail content, attachments and both the sender’s and recipient’s email addresses are multi-tier encrypted and completely hidden from the outside world.

“Privato is focused on being a respected communications network where only people that have identified each other as part of their network can communicate,” said Neal Smith, president and CEO of Privato Security. “Inbound email communications are limited to only Privato users on the network that eliminates unwanted communications and reduces potential security leaks and breaches.”

Features of PrivateMail
PrivateMail simply integrates directly into popular email clients like Outlook, Thunderbird and Mail to create a new communications channel to ensure that sensitive email, documents and personal information are delivered and received only by the intended recipients. Users either select the PrivateMail account or click on the "Send Securely" button to transmit private messages. No one other than the intended recipient can access and read the message as it remains encrypted until the authorized recipient downloads the message and it is automatically decrypted.

Addition of PrivateMail Plus
PrivateMail Plus includes the ability to send secure messages to any email address outside of the PrivateMail network. This is especially important for businesses that are looking to protect client and patient privacy but want the ease of use of email. Each PrivateMail Plus account includes a standard 100 annual Send/Read/Reply (SRR) message bundle where non-subscribers can safely login to read, download and reply to communications. Additional SRR messages are available and PrivateMail Plus subscribers can also send an unlimited number of secure messages to other PrivateMail subscribers. PrivateMail Plus also provides provisioning for a single account on up to three devices (computers, tablets, mobile devices).

“Privato PrivateMail Plus gives business and healthcare professionals more flexibility and power to access and transmit secure documents and private communications outside of their PrivateMail network,” commented Smith.

The Privato PrivateMail Platform
The Privato PrivateMail Platform includes 1024-bit asymmetric client side message encryption via a distributed private key coupled with 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) symmetric encryption for secure communication. The SSL communications that transports messages outside of the Privato platform employs (AES) in 128-bit, 192-bit, or 256-bit encryption depending on the receiver’s device/ browser client configuration. The technology fits the needs of industry and government with AES being the encryption standard for the U.S. government and U.S. banks use 256-bit encryption.
