With barely a month into the New Year, experts and analysts are expecting steady gains in the stock market as 2013 progresses. This comes after the Standard & Poor's 500-stock index rose by 5 percent this January which is considered as the 12th best opening since 1950. This also marks the 19th time since 1950 that the index rose over four percent at the beginning of the year.
According to experts, this augurs well for 2013 as, historically, when the index rises by over 4 percent at the start of the year, the index rises by an average of 15.1 percent in the following months. In fact, there has only been one instance since 1950 that the index failed to perform well into the year after opening with a 4 percent increase in the index. January 1987 saw the index rise by 13.2 percent only to close dismally in the following months.
The American market's strong performance is reflective of the overall state of the global market where majority of the 20 largest stock markets rose this January.
This favorable news comes at the heels of the 2013 Annual Global Outlook report released by asset management firm Russell Investments. According to the report, the equity markets will post modest gains in 2013 anchored upon the growth of the American and Chinese economies. This, however, is countered by the perceived volatility of the Eurozone which still has to grapple with the issue of inflation.
According to The Binary Options Experts, the "January Effect" or strong initial rally of the stock market can be seen as a boon to investors, both for the experienced ones and for those who are just starting their foray into investment. However, the consultancy firm said that investors should not be over reliant on a platform that is strongly influenced by too many factors. Instead, investors should consider a trading platform like binary options trading which yields good returns regardless of the direction of the market.
Unlike trading in stocks, binary options trading is a simple trading platform wherein there are only two possible outcomes: you win or lose. Even a novice can easily begin trading in binary options. All he or she needs is to choose the asset to trade in, including foreign exchange, commodities and indices, and to decide whether the value of the asset will go up or down upon expiration of the trade period. And with the advent of binary options signals, investors can make informed decisions that can lead to great profits.
Just like any trading platform, trading in binary options requires the investor to study the intricacies of the platform. However, in binary options, the learning curve is low, making it one of the more accessible trading platforms. Another advantage of this trading platform is that it is a form of short-term investment; a binary options profit can be made in just a few minutes. And unlike trading stocks, the investor does not have to suffer from anxiety when the market becomes volatile.
