Organised and administrated by Phillip CFD, the first ever Trading Arena is an exciting CFD trading game open to all Phillip CFD clients, new and seasoned alike. In this 3-month long trading challenge, registered traders will pit their skills and knowledge against one another. To add to the excitement, players will be using live accounts! Open to registration since 1st January 2013, the Trading Arena was officially launched during the recent Asian Market Outlook for 2013 seminar as part of Phillip CFD’s 10th Anniversary Celebrations in Singapore.

For seasoned CFD traders, the Arena allows them to challenge themselves and test their skills against similarly experienced traders. With a rich pool of educational resources readily accessible and the potential knowledge to be learnt from one another, registered players – known as “Trading Warriors” in the game – are guaranteed to see their personal trading skills “level up”.

In order to get started with the trading challenge, players must have an account with Phillip CFD and have passed their Customer Knowledge Assessment. Upon registration, players are given a starter kit worth over S$150, including 3-month subscriptions to POEMS ChartWhiz and SharesInv.com, 2-month free trial of ShareInvestor WebPro, a S$50 wine voucher from Profiters International as well as a complimentary invite to a wine investment seminar. Players will then face one another in the Arena, “gladiator-trader” style, and “trade-fight” their way to the top of the ranks to be crowned Champion. Aside from the trading experience to be gained, the rewards for the top traders are impressive to say the least.

At the end of the challenge period, Trading Warriors will be judged on realised profits based on closed positions. The trading warrior with the highest realised profits for the whole challenge period is crowned “Champion” and stands to win prizes with a nett worth of over S$3,000. This includes S$500 of CFD trading credits and a 6-month access to ShareInvestor Station with Dynamic TA chart worth over S$400. Other medals to be awarded are “MVP”, “Best Young Trader”, “Best Female Trader”, “Best Mobile Trader”, “Best Risk Manager”, and “Most Sociable Trader”.

Although players registered to the Arena are only allowed to use ONE live CFD account, there are no limits to the amount of deposits to trade placed in each account, or the number of instruments used to compete. For those stumped as to how to reach the next level, Trading Arena’s spokespeople Collin Seow and Robin Ho share some valuable advice respectively: “Take profit slow.
