Humvees need a stable base on the sand to undergo repairs.

'Like many of our quality products, the automotive jack pads are specially designed to assist military personnel in the repair and maintenance of vehicles that are critical to their missions,' said Chris Hulsey of KTC.

Kipper Tool Co. has selected Vycom’s advanced Seaboard Grip-X material for use as military vehicle jack repair pads in regions such as Afghanistan. Kipper Tool Company (KTC) is a woman-owned small business based in Gainesville, GA. KTC is an authorized distributor for more than 300 tool and industrial supply manufacturers for industry, government agencies and the military.

Non-skid, UV resistant Grip-X is designed for harsh environments like the hot desert climate, and unlike wood or metal, it won’t rust, corrode, rot or splinter. As part of the KTC automotive tool box designed for the military, the vehicle pads are placed on the sand to stabilize the jacks when repairing Humvees and over-sized vehicles. The material for the pads has to be extremely tough and durable since it constantly rubs against the hot sand, supports heavy vehicles and comes in contact with auto grease and chemicals.

“Like many of our quality products, the automotive jack pads are specially designed to assist military personnel in the repair and maintenance of vehicles that are critical to their missions,” said Chris Hulsey, Director of Marketing at KTC. “It’s a privilege to serve their needs and make their repair jobs more productive.”

Available in a dot pattern, Grip-X has superior scratch resistance, stiffness, and UV resistance. The material is supplied by Piedmont, a leading plastics distributor and fabricator with 40 locations in the U.S. and Canada. “We share Kipper Tool’s dedication to using the best, most advanced materials on the market for our troops stationed around the world,” said Dale Fulmer, General Manager, Piedmont Plastics.
