SOA principles and a flexible, highly capable ESB are central to enterprise application integration best practices.
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) June 25, 2013
Today, service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles and a flexible, highly capable enterprise service bus (ESB) are central to enterprise application integration (EAI) best practices. Together, WSO2, SUSE and Yenlo B.V. will present a series of one-day workshops for IT architects and developers that explore how to successfully implement a service broker pattern for connectivity, mediation, process orchestration, and security with an ESB model. Entitled “WSO2 Integration Platform Discovery,” the workshop series is being held from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in three locations:
- Paris, Thursday, June 27, 2013, to register, visit: http://wso2.com/events/workshops/2013-june-paris-wso2-integration-platform-discovery-workshop
- Amsterdam, Tuesday, July 2, 2013, to register, visit: http://wso2.com/events/workshops/2013-july-amsterdam-wso2-integration-platform-discovery-workshop
- Berlin, Tuesday, July 9, 2013, to register, visit: http://wso2.com/events/workshops/2013-july-berlin-wso2-integration-platform-discovery-workshop
The Role of an ESB and API Management within an SOA
The workshop is designed for IT architects and developers seeking to obtain a high-level architectural understanding of how ESBs fit within an SOA. It will explore how enterprises can connect, mediate, orchestrate and manage interactions between application integration consumers and providers using WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus in conjunction with other components of the WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform. Additionally, the session will examine how API management can help govern APIs and extend SOA architecture. Workshop session topics will include:
- An overview of ESB architecture, the role of an ESB within an SOA, and the benefits of loosely coupled application architectures.
- Understanding core ESB capabilities, including mediation, transformation, routing, messaging, and support for enterprise integration patterns (EIP).
- How to expose any data source as a service, including DBMS, NoSQL database, and spreadsheets, using the WSO2 Data Services Server.
- How to govern and manage enterprise services using the WSO2 Governance Registry.
- How to leverage API management to enhance API delivery.
Paul Fremantle, WSO2 co-founder and CTO, will lead the Berlin workshop. Recognized by InfoWorld as a Top 25 CTO, he was responsible for simultaneously leading development of the groundbreaking WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus and Apache Synapse ESB. Paul has played a pioneering role in open source development, beginning with the original Apache SOAP project and his role in leading IBM's involvement in the Axis C/C++ project. He is co-chair of the OASIS Web Services Reliable eXchange Technical Committee, and vice president of the Apache Synapse Project.
Isabelle Mauny, WSO2 director of product management, will lead the workshops in Paris and Amsterdam. She heads the WSO2 Madrid office and focuses on enhancing the company’s middleware products, platforms and solutions to maximize customer value. Isabelle brings more than 18 years of technology, consulting and management experience in Java, application development, middleware, and SOA, through her roles at IBM and Vordel. Additionally, Isabelle is a published author and regular speaker on the topics of system administration, application development, and programming.
