NAPW honors Michelle Gatto as a 2013/2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in mental illness and therapy with this prestigious distinction. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with nearly 500,000 members and over 400 Local Chapters.

"I still feel privileged every day to work with my clients and their families, hoping to support them through difficulties and encouraging them that change is possible," says Ms. Gatto. Ms. Gatto serves as part of a group of dedicated colleagues, who have and continue to work on helping persons with mental illnesses achieve a full and productive life to the best of their abilities.

A certified addiction counselor and certified co-occurring disorders professional, Ms. Gatto specializes in clinical staff development and working with resistive clients and family system dynamics. She has successfully helped families develop healthier living skills, while encouraging them to seek personal growth and insight. Through her skilled care and adept therapy practices, Ms. Gatto has witnessed the incredible recovery in clients with both single mental health issues and co-occurring disorder issues.

Ms. Gatto looks forward to entering a Ph.D. program to further her education and to expand her role as a mentor for clinicians with less field experience. “I am working on my state license to specialize in working with autistic children and adults and their families,” says Ms. Gatto.
