Downtown Delray Beach is a trendy and vibrant resort town, filled with entertainment, amazing history, culture and fantastic dining.

Downtown Delray Beach announces the sale of the Tastemaker of Delray Beach Passports on July 1, 2013 at the 18 participating restaurants. Delray Beach magazine (JES Publishing), in partnership with the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA), presents the Fifth Annual Tastemakers of Delray Beach, a food and beverage tasting event. The event will take place later this summer on Thursday, August 8 and Friday, August 9 from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. This premier culinary two-day event has been overwhelmingly well received by attendees and is a wonderful way to showcase the vibrant Downtown Delray Beach and all it has to offer all year round.

This unique event, Tastemakers of Delray Beach truly is a strolling international food event, featuring 18 of Delray’s premier restaurants within the downtown area. Each participating restaurant has designed a special culinary delight that is reflective of their chef’s specialty and paired it with a special beverage selection. The Passport holder will stroll from restaurant to restaurant partaking in the savory delights that these locations have provided. The program will be held on two evenings in order to allow people time to experience all 18 restaurants. It is a “must experience” this summer!

In order to participate guests must purchase a Passport at any of the participating restaurants for $30 cash (quantities are limited). The Passport also provides a specially designed promotional offer that is redeemable at the restaurants from July 1-September 30. Some of the offers consist of 10%-15% off your entrée choice, free glass of wine, or even complimentary appetizers. A portion of the Passport proceeds will benefit the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum this year to support the effort of “expanding, preserving and presenting the culturally diverse history of the African Diaspora in Palm Beach County.” If all Passports are sold for the 2013 Tastemakers of Delray Beach, $2,500 will be donated to the Museum.
