The Dallas Tennis Association (DTA) hosted the annual Cotton Bowl Classic tournament December 26 to 30, 2013. The adult major zone and junior open tournament included over 44 events involving juniors, college athletes, adults and seniors.
There were 626 players from all over the country, including Texas, California, Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina, Illinois, Minnesota, and New York. Under the motto, “We Serve. Everyone Wins,” the tournament included husband/wife, mother/daughter, father/son, and other double teams in addition to single players of all ages and all levels.
The Dallas Tennis Association is a non-profit Community Tennis Association (CTA). The DTA promotes tennis in the greater Dallas community through its USTA league programs, sanctioned tournaments and after school tennis and education programs.
“The tournament accommodates everyone, from kids ages 8 and up to players competing at a college level,” said Mark Hodge, Tournament Director and Junior Team Tennis Dallas Area Coordinator for Dallas Tennis Association. “We play on indoor courts and outdoor courts to coordinate such a large group of players. It works well for players who want to compete year-round.”
