Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner

Nothing makes us more proud at the Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner than being able to give back to our community.

McLean, VA (PRWEB) January 09, 2014

The Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner hotel has been a participant in the Holiday Spirit Program for Fairfax County Department of Social Services for the past 11 years. As part of the program, the hotel employees purchase gifts for adopted children which are then distributed to foster children. The Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner is highly involved with its local community and the employees enjoy every opportunity to give back to those in need.

Most children in foster care range in age from infancy to late adolescence and come from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. This program allows them to live as normal children while going through the hardships of foster care. The Fairfax County Foster Care and Adoption Department are only able to provide room and board but not much more, and are thankful for all the support the community gives during the holidays.

“Nothing makes us more proud at the Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner than being able to give back to our community,” says hotel General Manager Trish Drews. “Our community is important to us and we will try to help any way we can.”

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is located in the heart of bustling Tysons Corner, a major shopping district in Fairfax County, Virginia. Such a centralized location allows the hotel employees to get a sense of their entire Fairfax community and renews their commitment to worthy causes such as this.

Today, over 300 Fairfax County children are in foster care. The Foster Care and Adoption Program offers placement for these children and services to help their families. When a child cannot return home safely, the program will then seek adoption or other permanent placement.
