As college students themselves, the founders of Motavera know internships and work experience will help them accrue marketable skills while still in school. They are not happy with the current methods of finding internships and employment and want to optimize the experience for both students and employers.
As Motavera’s CEO Andrew Estes comments:
Yes LinkedIn is a great service, but they are a social media company. Social media is the purpose they serve, social media is their brand, yet over 53% of its revenue comes from “Talent Solutions.” That is ridiculous. We are building a website that is 100% focused on helping recruiters find talent.
The Motavera team has already successfully worked with various industries such as Photography and Insurance, and has captured the attention of a major Healthcare company.
The money will be used to hire several college computer science majors to further develop the platform and increase the speed at which new features will be introduced. They want to build a platform that will help students more easily find the opportunities that are out there and help companies hire more students in a more efficient, less costly fashion.
Although there are similar companies, the founders of Motavera are confident they have the right formula. A video interviewing service, like Skype, will be incorporated into Motavera’s website. The ability to save and rank prospects will be another feature. There are a minimum of 7 other high-tech features just waiting to be developed. Students will have incredibly detailed profiles, both personal and professional information, as well as the option to utilize personalized resumes.
Motavera is not financially ravenous - non-profits do not have to pay for utilizing the site. The founders are mission focused, simply wanting to build a platform in a sustainable and cost-effective way that will help many people find opportunities in a more effective manner. This platform is ideal for motivated college students seeking to find opportunities in their communities and abroad.
This campaign will receive all funds raised regardless of amount raised.
Funding duration: December 31, 2013 - March 01, 2014 (11:59pm PT).
