ACareerJob, the job-matching and video resume App, today announced it has added a new ‘rate-your-employer’ feature where users can submit reviews of and assign ratings to companies they have worked for. The new feature will offer job seekers insight and real-life accounts of prospective employers—before the interview.

The new ‘rate your employer’ feature will be similar to assessment sites like Tripadvisor and Yelp where users rate vacations, restaurants, hotels and businesses and service providers. ACareerJob users will now be able to provide companies they are or have been employed by a rating between 1 and 5—1 would be the equivalent of a ‘run as fast as you can’ caveat while 5 would indicate that working for an employer was ‘heaven on earth.’ There is also an option to submit detailed comments or a company review. Users can choose to submit ratings anonymously.

“Our objective with ‘rate your employer’ is to provide job seekers tangible insight into companies to help guide their decision on a career change,” said John Francis, president of A Career Job. “We’ve seen a trend with employers who present themselves in one light during an interview—but once a person starts the job, the culture is very different. This is frustrating, so we’re providing those with inside knowledge a venue to share and help educate others about a company and its culture.”

The ACareerJob.net job finder app and video resume tool is a solution for job seekers to connect with employers efficiently and in real time. The app’s built-in video resume feature allows employers to see candidates quickly and up close, eliminating paperwork. Now, the new ‘rate your employer’ feature offers users perspective on employers.

ACareerJob is the only job-matching app to offer a video resume feature in addition to a candidate profile and traditional resume attachment. When job seekers create a video resume summarizing why they’re qualified for a job it adds value and increases their chances of being noticed and contacted by employers.
