Maponics Bikability score summarizes, when using a bicycle for transportation, the level of accessibility to leisure, amenity and overall points of interest (POIs) available in Maponics boundaries. Each Bikability score is calculated using complex algorithms that factor in the complexity of street intersections, speed limits, elevation, types of roads, length of time to bike to POIs and the availability of POIs.
Maponics Bikability data covers 154,000 neighborhoods in over 4,000 cities across the United States, versus less than 1,000 neighborhoods in 100+ cities covered by Walk Score’s Bike Score.
Maponics Public Transportation score summarizes the level of accessibility to leisure, amenity and overall POIs by public transit, including subways, buses and trains. Each Public Transportation score is calculated using algorithms that factor in how long it takes to walk to public transportation stations and the length of time spent traveling on public transit to reach POIs. Maponics Public Transportation data is based on General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) data provided by public transit agencies.
Maponics Public Transportation data covers 154,000 neighborhoods in over 2,000 cities across the United States. Walk Score’s Transit Score, on the other hand, covers less than 1,000 neighborhoods in 300+ U.S. cities.
