Annabelle Hill, Connection’s Marketing Director said, “We are really excited about our new Thynk sofas and chairs. They are as comfortable and stylish as any furniture that you would have at home, but with the addition of the high back, they offer acoustic screening to give privacy for collaborative and concentrated work, which is one of the key problems any designer has to solve in today’s workspaces.”
The product development team at Connection briefed Roger Webb to create sofas and chairs with a simple elegant style that would solve these real-work issues: the result was Thynk. Increasingly, as open plan workspaces develop, there is a requirement for soft seating to provide more than just comfortable space away from the desk. Privacy for collaborative discussions and individual concentration is increasingly important. Not only to enhance productivity, but also the wellbeing of the people working within the space.
Raising the height of the back with the addition of an optional high back panel provides the privacy and the acoustic screening people are looking for, without cutting them off totally from the rest of the environment.
An additional benefit from this design, is that by placing two Thynk sofas or chairs facing each other, small private team or meeting areas can be created within open plan offices, which solves another key issue for business owners: how to optimize their expensive office space.
Furthermore, in today’s connected office, even soft seating has to support technology so Connection’s intelligent design approach means Thynk sofas and chairs have the option of integrated power sources for charging laptops, tablets and smartphones.
Finally, many businesses are looking to reflect their brand essence and identity through their workplace furniture, which is why Connection are making the Thynk range available in a wide range of fabrics and colours.
