While Host Virtual started its cloud business close to four years ago, the company is rolling out the fifth iteration of its self-service cloud hosting platform to its 15 datacenters around the world. It is available now to its customers through their self-service portals.
While other similar services are tied to stacks developed outside their control, Host Virtual’s platform is developed in-house. Input from its customers are incorporated into the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) quickly, and is why the company is deploying the fifth generation of its software in less than four years.
"Many competing cloud hosting services utilize an off-the-shelf solution. This locks a customer into a vendor. However, we are constantly refining and upgrading our service and quickly respond to our customers’ needs — especially when it comes to scalability — providing unparalleled advancements in stability and ease of use," Host Virtual Senior Vice President Sandy Bhargavi said.
The upgrades included in Host Virtual 5.0 are improvements to Anycast BGP with more features and additional carriers; new API features and enhancements; the addition of hundreds of new operating system images and a redesigned and unified user experience, including a global dashboard.
Host Virtual’s cloud allows customers to deploy servers located in Asia, Europe and North America in a minute with dual-stack, IPv4 and IPv6 capabilities. Hypervisors (using industry-leading virtualization), custom interfaces and management tools give its customers a powerful, but easy to use, user experience. The platform is compatible with all leading virtualization solutions and backend platforms for managed services and dedicated cloud customers, as well as providing load balancing and CDN support.
