HCDBM is a faith-based, regional ministry that provides physical, emotional and spiritual support to more than 8,200 families living in poverty in the Texas Hill Country.
Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries is a Regional Resource Center located in Boerne, Texas. They have been helping transform the lives of our neighbors in poverty for the past 13 years. HCDBM have done so in collaboration with churches, agencies, sponsors, and people who know first hand that each of us has the power to help change a life. They are a hub of community resources, services and supplies that are delivered directly to homes by Mentors—thousands of trained volunteers from more than 170 ministry partners and agencies. In addition to food and basic household necessities, Mentors bring hope, encouragement and the message of Jesus Christ to those who need it most.
Their process is designed to foster long-term, meaningful relationships between people in need and people who are called to help… family to family, neighbor to neighbor, a community united to end situational and generational poverty in our Hill Country. HCDBM administers programs, manages donations, mobilizes community resources and trains Churches, Mentors, and volunteers from more than 60 ministry partners and agencies who deliver food, clothing, furniture, diapers, school supplies, children’s books, and bibles, to struggling families in an eight-county area. At the Boerne campus, volunteers sort, pack and prepare boxes for Mentors to deliver. Because every family registers their sizes and special needs with them, their support is highly targeted and no donation is ever wasted.
Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries was created by Agnes and David Hubbard in October 2000 and began in a garage serving 30 families. Since 2002, HCDBM has operated from their 17,500 sq. ft. headquarters in Boerne with over 5,000 volunteers. Currently, HCDBM serves over 18,000 adults, children and families in need through their unique food banking and case management model. HCDBM serves 8 Hill Country counties - Bandera, Comal, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, Uvalde and Northern Bexar.
With the new larger center Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries will be able to support and help more people and families in need. The Cyr Family Foundation offers its complete support of Hill Country Daily Bread’s new center, and looks forward to continuing to support the HCDBM mission.
