Today, Prepr Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Prepr PIE Program: the world’s first credentialed challenge-based education program to combine the skills of innovation, entrepreneurship and project management. Geared towards learners who aspire to make a positive social impact while developing their own abilities, the PIE method serves as their guide.
The goals of the program are two-fold: teach people useful skills for innovating, building a startup and managing projects, as well as creating solutions to real-world problems.
This year, challenges are being offered in the areas of Health, Education and Community. Participants, known as change-makers, select a challenge, form teams, and develop solutions. In order to solve the challenges, they must begin by reaching out to the people they are trying to help. Through on-going conversation the change-makers learn more about the experiences and needs of the affected community.
The PIE program is an experiential learning program. As participants progress through the PIE Method they earn badges by developing, refining and executing their challenge solution. Another important element of the PIE process is getting feedback from industry experts. From providing technical expertise to redefining a challenge to offering motivation and encouragement the PIE experts offer participants a leg up in their new ventures.
The PIE program is unique. In a world where many wish to make a difference and tackle the ‘Grand Challenges’, but few know how, PIE offers a roadmap. The method incorporates all of the key steps in creating novel solutions and bringing them to life, while the program offers change-makers incentives through badges, opportunities for connection, expert feedback and more. Combined, this makes Prepr PIE the world’s first credentialed experiential learning program for aspiring change-makers.
