As reported by the Mirror in a story titled ‘Watch heroic shopkeeper beat off gunman with CANS as his off-licence is raided’ posted on the 27th of January, shopkeeper Doug Reynolds is allegedly seen fighting back an armed robber in his off-licence on CCTV footage. The 68 year old was seen swatting a gun out of his face when his shop, Bargain Booze in Ramsbottom was raided on the 12th of January.

Whilst the CCTV predominantly captured the activity involving the gunman in the centre of the footage, activity can also be seen in the lower right hand corner where his accomplice raids the till.

The gun wielding raider struck Mr. Reynolds over the head, at which point Mr. Reynolds retaliated by attacking the criminal with cans of beer and other items.
