Rochester Optical’s RO GOLD ® lenses are now available for sale on outside frames including Google’s own prescription frames for Google Glass.
With the announcement of Google’s own prescription frames for Google Glass, Rochester Optical has opened up ordering of their patented RO GOLD ® lenses to be offered beyond their own proprietary GPLC frames. Glass Explorers can now purchase the RO GOLD lenses for Google’s Rx frames, or any others out there currently being offered.
“We recognize the benefits of our RO GOLD ® lenses for all Google Glass Explorers,” stated Patrick Ho, Owner and CEO of Rochester Optical, “that’s why we are pleased to offer our RO GOLD ® lenses to Glass Explorers who choose other prescription frames, including Google’s prescription frames for Glass.”
Google Glass Explorers can now order RO GOLD ® lenses through http://gplc.rochesteroptical.com.
The patented RO GOLD ® lenses were designed specifically for smart glass applications like Google Glass, and to-date, nothing else like it has been released. Rochester Optical spent months developing technology that optimizes the upper right portion of the lens, where smart glass wearers gaze at the Heads Up Display (HUD). The RO GOLD ® lens is intended to not only improve the visual acuity of the lens, but also reduce eye fatigue for Glass wearers. This is what differentiates Rochester Optical from all of their competitors who are simply putting standard Rx lenses on Google Glass.
The Glass Team at Rochester Optical has been testing these products for months, and one in particular was hesitant to install prescription lenses to her Google Glass because she normally wears contacts. Wendy Emerson, Digital Marketing Manager and Glass Team Member at Rochester Optical, recently mounted her GPLC with RO GOLD ® lenses to her Glass and was overwhelmed by the result. “The RO GOLD lenses make my Google Glass HUD look like it’s super high-definition,” stated Emerson. “I knew we were creating a superior lens product to what all our competitor have been releasing, but now I see it in picture perfect clarity every time I use my Google Glass!”
The RO GOLD ® lenses start at just $99 and provide Glass wearers many options for lens materials. Rochester Optical is currently offering single vision, lined-bifocals (ST-28) and progressive lenses for Google Glass, all of which are digitally made give the wearer that “high-definition” experience. Other options on RO GOLD ® lenses include sun lenses (tinting), photochromic lenses including Transitions, and Olé Anti-Reflective Coating.
Rochester Optical Manufacturing is an independently owned and operated optical lab and manufacturer and is not affiliated with Google or Google Glass.
