San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 07, 2014
At their quarterly staff meeting on Friday, February 7, 2014, the associates at AimLoan will be presenting a contribution of $20,880 to Kevin Shaeffer, a retired Navy Lieutenant now working with the Wounded Warriors Project (WWP) in San Diego. A survivor of the terrorist attacks on the Pentagon during 9/11, Shaeffer currently serves with WWP to raise awareness and enlist the public’s help with supporting injured service members.
Taking a holistic approach, WWP endeavors to nurture the wounds of war, both seen and unseen, encouraging economic empowerment and engagement. In 2013, the program successfully placed 364 members in jobs. Additionally, just over 250 members served in Project Odyssey, a combat stress recovery program established to rehabilitate warriors through outdoor recreational activities.
Every year, AimLoan accepts the privilege of choosing four non-profits to support through its quarterly website campaigns, a tradition that has been in place since 2001 in response to 9/11. $20 for each loan funded is set aside and a check of the sum is ultimately presented to the charity at the company’s quarterly staff meeting. Amidst the many admirable charities AimLoan takes pride in selecting those that represent exemplary impact in the community. Last year, AimLoan donated a total of $146,980 to chosen charities in San Diego.
