Marlboro, NJ (PRWEB) February 12, 2014
Evergreen Synergies LLC has announced the merger of Sun & Earth® with its Earthworm® brand of household products. Sun & Earth, an iconic brand of natural cleaning products, is under new ownership for the first time since it was founded in 1988. The Earthworm brand includes a line of natural enzyme-based household products, including a drain cleaner, septic system treatments and household cleaners. Together, the merged product lines offer a comprehensive selection of alternative products for consumers who are concerned about the environment and exposure to harsh household chemicals.
The merger of these brands will strengthen the company’s leadership in green cleaning products for the consumer, commercial, industrial and institutional markets through improved customer service, broader distribution, increased competitiveness and new product development. “People are increasingly concerned about the use of harsh chemicals around the home,” said Ricky Greer, co-CEO of Evergreen Synergies and founder of Earthworm. “That’s why we started Earthworm in 2007. And that’s why we are excited today to be partnering with such a great, like-minded company. Sun & Earth was a true pioneer in safer, environmentally friendly products. This is a new chapter and we expect the journey will be filled with tremendous opportunities to grow these great brands.”
Sun & Earth currently offers dozens of phosphate-free, plant-based kitchen, bath, laundry and all-purpose household cleaning products. The company has no plans to change the popular Sun & Earth products, ingredients or manufacturing. None of the products are tested on animals. Although under new management, Sun & Earth headquarters and employees will continue to operate in King of Prussia, PA.
“Green cleaning” is no longer a niche market confined to natural foods stores. With increasing public concern about the environment and chemical exposure, products that are safer for people, pets and the environment are gaining shelf space in major retail stores and online. By combining the products, resources and distribution of Earthworm with Sun & Earth, retailers and consumers alike will have access to a complete line of effective and affordable natural cleaners.
New products currently under development for the commercial and institutional markets will be made available in 2014. “Professional cleaning services, healthcare, education and hospitality are just a few of the sectors demanding safer cleaning products,” said Howard Levine, co-CEO of Evergreen Synergies. “People are not only concerned about the environment and personal exposure to harsh chemicals in their home, but also in the workplace, schools, healthcare facilities and the places they visit.”
Earthworm and Sun & Earth consumer products are currently available in major supermarkets, independent grocers and natural food markets across the U.S., as well as online.
