Brad doesn’t “train our dogs”, he trains us to teach our dogs and I look forward to the day his program is available to every dog owner in the world.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) February 12, 2014

Dogological, a company that seeks to empower dog owners by teaching from the dog’s point of view, today announced the company has joined Indiegogo, an international crowdfunding website, to open consumer investment on Wednesday, February 12th. Dogological is launching an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign in partnership with Gabriel’s Angels, a non-profit organization that serves over 13,000 abused, neglected, and at-risk children in Arizona with pet therapy, in order to bring the Dogological Dog Teaching Method At-home Program DVD set available to dog owners worldwide. Over a span of 30 days, the campaign aims to raise $25,000, which will go towards completing the Dogological training DVD set (editing, authoring, formatting and packaging) and a portion of the funding will also be donated directly to Gabriel’s Angels to support nationwide expansion of the organization.

Over the past 15 years, Dogological has worked with over 6,500 owners and their dogs, including a number that now serve as therapy dogs at Gabriel’s Angels, and has perfected a simple program for communicating with dogs in a way that they understand. Once finished, the interactive video set will teach dog owners to train their dogs from the dog’s point of view and will help them tap into their dog’s natural intelligence and desire to please. This non-confrontational method is a stark contrast to today’s well-known pack-leader dominance models.

“I was in search for a specific type of training that would never incorporate “alpha” or “pack mentality” and one that would use no harsh physical correction,” said Mary Watson, owner of four English Mastiffs in Phoenix, Arizona. “I found exactly that in Dogological and trainer Brad Jaffe because the program is all about positive reinforcement and training your dogs with joy as a reward for both the dogs and their owners. Brad doesn’t “train our dogs”, he trains us to teach our dogs and I look forward to the day his program is available to every dog owner in the world.”

The Humane Society estimates that 2.7 million adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized each year and lack of training has been identified as one of the factors that leads to euthanization. Dogological believes that if dog owners can easily access affordable dog training methods, dogs can be kept out of shelters and these numbers can be lowered.

“My goal is to be able to make the Dogological method easily available to anyone and everyone that wants to have a well-mannered dog while preserving a great mutually beneficial relationship together,” said Brad Jaffe, owner and dog training specialist at Dogological. “The campaign is also supporting the expansion of Gabriel’s Angels because we have tightly aligned missions. Gabriel’s Angels helps heal and nurture children that have been exposed to abuse, neglect, and abandonment through the gentle loving presence of therapy dogs, while Dogological helps to prevent dogs from being exposed to harsh and abusive methods, because just as children never deserve to be hit, intimidated or humiliated neither do dogs.”

Over the past couple of years, crowdfunding has emerged as an alternative to support start-up companies or products looking for funding. Launched as a collective public effort to fund non-profits, companies and products, individuals have the ability to invest money in a product or cause that they are passionate about. Indiegogo, an international crowdfunding site, is headquartered in San Francisco, and has hosted over 100,000 funding campaigns in the animals, charity, small business and film space.
