Shorter lead times to market for all manner of products make for compressed lead times for tooling. Our customers need to deliver tools faster so we need to deliver components faster. It's as simple as that.

Coopersville, MI (PRWEB) February 13, 2014

Today, mold and die components maker SelfLube announced that it is increasing inventory levels and reducing lead times on make-to-order items in order to better serve its customers in the tooling industry.

"It is all about serving the customer," says SelfLube owner Phil Allor. "Shorter lead times to market for all manner of products make for compressed lead times for tooling. Our customers need to deliver tools faster so we need to deliver components faster. It's as simple as that."

To address this challenge, the Company came up with a two-phased approach. In the first phase, which began several months ago, the Company expanded its warehouse space and scheduled increased production in its manufacturing operations to fill it up. With the first phase largely complete the Company has moved on to the second phase, which entails shortening manufacturing lead times on selected products, which customers have asked for quicker delivery. The first round of lead time reductions came in November of last year. The second round came this month with more to come later in the year.

SelfLube is the leading U.S. manufacturer of both conventional and self-lubricating components used in mold and metal stamping dies. As an ISO 9000 registered company with five successive audits with zero non-conformances, SelfLube is well positioned to supply the precision component needs of the tooling industry. Its product line of some 10,000 standard part numbers includes wear plates, wear strips, bushings, gibs, parting line locks, lifter slides and related items. SelfLube's full product line can be viewed online along with cad models of each part number.
