Traditional stuffed shell recipes use ricotta cheese. Break tradition and use leaf spinach and cottage cheese for a healthy alternative. This recipe still uses your favorite sauce and cheese but adds a healthier alternative using to ricotta cheese.
  •     Shepherd’s Pie with Squash
Yes, squash. Instead of using potatoes for the top layer of your shepherd’s pie, try using squash that is pureed to mashed potato consistency. Squash is a healthier alternative to the traditional use of potatoes.

  •     Spaghetti and Meatballs
An interesting take on spaghetti and meatballs is to use spaghetti squash and ground turkey instead of noodles and hamburger. You can still use your favorite sauce combined with these healthier ingredients.
  •     Skillet Tuna Noodle Casserole
When making this, avoid using premade canned ingredients and instead make your own homemade creamy mushroom sauce. Use whole-wheat egg noodles instead of traditional egg noodles.
  •     Dark Fudgy Brownies
No dinner would be complete without dessert. For a healthier variation on traditional brownies, use 50 percent cacao chocolate and light corn syrup. Add chopped walnuts if desired.
