FIRE-FX’s Premium Media System, the FFXPLAY 3.0, has been carefully chosen by a panel of industry experts to join an exclusive group of products deemed best in custom integration and installed technology.

This award recognizes the best new and/or improved media management product. The winning product will effectively manage digital audio and/or video content within the home. Entries may store content locally or stream from local or cloud servers. Media management may be a subset of the product’s overall capabilities such as Web enabled TV, digital video recorders, and home theater receivers. The winning entry will provide a state-of-the-art end-user experience for accessing and playing digital content.

“The FIRE-FX product team has worked hard to make the FFXPLAY 3.0 perform like a media system should,” said Ken Allhands, Vice President of Software Design. “It is highly gratifying to have the recognition of our peers in the AV industry.”

The FIRE-FX FFXPLAY 3.0 is a lightning-fast, firmware-based media server that literally runs circles around the competition when it comes to performance. Instead of placing our media server on a bloated operating system like Windows or Ubuntu on a hard drive, we have created our own firmware, stripping out anything not associated with playing media and loading it into RAM for the fastest performance possible. The result is a solid state media player that is as stable as it is fast and literally fits in the palm of your hand.

“What really sets the FFXPLAY 3.0 system apart from our competitors is our flexibility, automation, and open architecture,” added Dave Putman, Vice President and CTO. “Our system allows the integrator to create a truly custom, high-performance media experience!”

The CES, running Jan. 7-10, has more than 3,200 exhibitors and is expected to attract more than 140,000 visitors.
