Mid-Size Employers Not Subject to Health Reform Penalties Until 2016

According to Zane Benefits' website, the Obama administration announced on February 10, 2014 another delay in the employer mandate for mid-sized employers. Mid-size employers (with 50-99 FTE employees) will not be subject to the employer mandate and penalties until 2016.

According to Zane Benefits' website, larger employers with 100+ employees will still be subject to the employer mandate starting in 2015, with some leeway in 2015.

Small employers with fewer than 50 FTE employees are exempt from the employer mandate and penalties.There has been no change for small employers with fewer than 50 employees.
