Famous African-American artist, Ted T. Ellis, has mobilized several artists to participate in a 24 hour paint-a-thon for Black Heritage Art Gallery in Houston, TX. Each of the artists will be stationed throughout the gallery painting and creating artwork that will be sold after the 24 hour period. Proceeds of the sales to help Black Heritage find a new home and to help the artist as well. This paint activity gives collectors the opportunity to collect a part of Black Heritage history. Each of the participating artists will use their creative energies and unique styles to create original artwork reflecting African-American lifestyle and culture. We hope this historical event meets with overwhelming support from the community. Black Heritage art Gallery is closing its doors after 37 years of celebrating African-American culture and history through art.
The paint-a-thon begins on Friday Morning at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. All artists will bring their paints, canvases and easel; we plan on having a great time and creating great art. Saturday is the official closing date for the oldest African-American Gallery in the country!
