The Many Housing Resources Available

Beginning this month, the Washington, D.C. company will be offering a free trial of this database to program coordinators, and special needs planning experts.

Washington, D.C (PRWEB) March 01, 2014

On November 11th, 2013 M&L Special Needs Planning, LLC launched its one-of-a-kind housing program, the Independent Living Program and Housing Project database, a one-stop, online resource for independent living and housing programs for individuals with disabilities and their families. Beginning this month, the Washington, D.C. company will be offering a free trial of this database to program coordinators, and special needs planning experts.

The unique database was inspired by the difficulty that M&L founder and owner, Maedi Tanham Carney CFP®, CWIC, experienced while searching for housing options for her daughter, Ellie. In addition to her frustrating personal experience, in her work as a special needs planner Maedi noticed that many families had the same complaints: finding reliable, current information on housing/independent living programs is time consuming, exhausting, and demoralizing. Most programs are state specific, and the information is hard to access. Many housing organizations simply don’t have the resources for public outreach, and as those involved with housing programs are aware, there simply aren’t enough programs to accommodate those who wish to participate in them.

According to Maedi and the M&L staff, the Independent Living Program and Housing Project is designed to change this frustrating search for the better – in fact, it will revolutionize the way in which Americans search for this type of program. The information (more than 800 entries of independent living programs, service providers, special needs organizations, and much, much more) is searchable by state, and includes contact information, program requirements and eligibility, and in some cases fee structures. M&L staff is in constant contact with program operators, so the information is current and reliable. The database also contains other information related to special needs housing, such as journal articles, studies, and updates on government policy and regulations pertaining to special needs housing. As well, Maedi will be periodically uploading informational videos that cover a wide range of special needs planning topics.

Typically, individuals subscribe through the database via four different subscription plans: monthly (9.99), quarterly (27.99), semi-annually (49.99), or annually (94.99). For a limited time, however, M&L will be offering free trials to existing program directors/coordinators and experts in the special needs planning industry. To access this free trial, to see if you are eligible for this free trial or for more information, please email info@specialneedsplanning.net. If you have any program additions, or can recommend any changes or updates, please notify us and we will gladly review and add your program/information to the database.
