We are doing it in order to support not-for-profit free legal advice agencies who are now overwhelmed due to the drastic legal aid cuts
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 27 February 2014
Members of Duncan Lewis Solicitors will be joining thousands of solicitors taking part in the after-work hours 10km walk around Central London led by the Lord Chief Justice.
Funds raised through the event will be donated to support London’s legal advice centres.
This year’s London Legal Walk marks the 10-year anniversary of the event and organisers have aimed to make it the “biggest and best ever walk” in the event's history.
Last year 7,500 volunteers took part in the event, which raised over £530,000. Organisers and participants hope that this year’s walk will “smash” last year's record as “the need for funding is now far more great”.
Members of Duncan Lewis Solicitors taking part in the walk include; Civil Litigations Director Anthony Okumah, Civil Litigation Solicitor Shilpa Sehgal and Housing Department Solicitor Shabana Masood.
Last year the firm raised an impressive £801.29, and aim to beat this in this year's walk. Donations and support for the walk through Duncan Lewis Solicitors fundraising page can be made by clicking here.
Anthony Okumah: Director of Duncan Lewis’ Civil Litigations department, who is taking part in the event said; “We are doing it in order to support not-for-profit free legal advice agencies who are now overwhelmed due to the drastic legal aid cuts."
